I am writing a brief blog post here to tell you I am migrating the blog function to my new Substack, Songs for the Unadapted Ones, which is allowing me to link my followers to website, blog, and newsletter in one place, where people seem to actually see what I write more than in a traditional blog format.
If you haven't already, I encourage you to subscribe to Songs for the Unadpapted Ones, since that is where I will be posting my thoughts about neurodiversity and unadapted bodyminds and announcing any new services, books, or classes I am offering.
I'm also excited to have this new format to publish overflow from my 5 years of writing and research for my hybrid memoir in progress about very late diagnosed autism. I will also be addressing how I have been healing from long COVID, which is a chronic illness I've been riding the waves of for over 5 years as well.
I can also ask for support on the Substack, and I am doing so. You can of course subscribe for free, and all the posts will be public, but each post will represent years of research and decades of lived experience, so if you have found value in my words or come to do so, please consider becoming a paid subscriber. If I have enough paid subscribers, I will also be able to offer silent writing spaces, pop up conversations about writing and neurodiversity, meditations and maybe even a yoga class or two. I qualified for disability last November (for long COVID and autism), because I can't function the way I used to be able to do by grinding it out. Because I never was able to hold a fulltime job in my life (thanks to burnout from undiagnosed autism), my disability payments are small. So, any help you can offer will be received with much gratitude and makes my writing and research possible.
So having said all that, here is a link to my inaugural post, All of You is Welcome Here (a statement I heard many times from Dr. Arielle Schwartz, a brilliant polyvagal informed yoga teacher and therapist). The next one will be coming out soon. I have a lot to say and will be happy to share it and connect with others barking up similar trees as we find ways to survive in a world not designed for us (which arguably includes most anyone aside from billionaires these days to be honest)...
